Mrs. Clara Mary Cronkhite, 87, of Attica Route 1, died about 1 a.m. Monday (June 2, 1969) at her residence south of Attica. Born May 4, 1882 in Warren County, she was the daughter of Wesley and Anna Cantrell Chapman. She was married in 1903 to Hosea Cronkhite. Mrs. Cronkhite was a member of the Fountain-Warren Home Economics Club, the Literary Club and the Garden Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a twin brother and her husband in 1951. Mrs. Cronkhite had resided in Warren County until 1919 when she moved to Fountain County. Services 2 p.m. Thursday at the Roemer Chapel in Attica and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Attica – Mrs. Clara Mary (Chapman) Cronkhite, 87 of Rt 1, Attica, died unexpectedly in her home at 1 a.m. Tuesday.  Mrs. Cronkhite, a native of Warren County had lived in her Fountain County home since 1919. She was married in 1903 to Hosea C. Cronkhite who died in 1951. She was a member of the Literary Club, Shawnee Home Extension Club and Fountain Warren Garden Club. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
